Bring the family on a fun, upbeat and wonderfully engaging guided kayak tour into the unique Canning River Wetlands, an area that few people get to explore, right here in the very heart of Perth. This unique wetlands area in such close proximity to Perth’s CBD can only be truly appreciated when accessed by kayak. Let us take you outdoors and a little off the beaten track where our experienced guides share knowledge of the areas history, culture, geography, plants and animals with you.

Don’t worry if you are new to paddling as our small group, guided tours are all about actively connecting you with nature rather than strenuous exercise and so cater for a wide range of ages and skill levels. We paddle slowly and stop frequently.

This tour is designed for beginners or those new to kayaking with no paddling experience. We start with a safety induction and lesson on how to paddle our very stable, sit-on top kayaks. We also provide all necessary equipment including life jacket and dry bag for your valuables. We aim to leave you and your family energised and with a strong sense of accomplishment.

Tour overview

We meet and launch near the Canning River Bridge in Riverton and paddle slowly into the wetlands area. Here we take the time to enjoy the birdlife that live, hunt and breed in this unique regional park and learn a little of the first Australians who lived in the area as well as the first European explorers that settled the Swan River Colony.

We continue our paddle and explore some of the alluvial islands and estuarine vegetation of the Canning River Regional Park before looping back to our start location.

Paddle duration & rating
